Facial Hair Removal

Laser Age Spot Removal
Unwanted facial hair is a problem faced daily by many women (and men) around the world each day. Facial hair can be persistent, and the skin of the face tends to be thinner and more sensitive than other parts of the body. This makes finding solutions an embarrassing game of trial and error. Many wonder what to do for facial hair removal. Permanently reducing facial hair is a challenge, but there are several solutions that people try out. Each technique has different results.

It is not recommended that a person try to shave off facial hair on the upper lip or eyebrows. Shaving causes the hair to grow back with a blunt edge. Shaving can also be irritating to the delicate skin of the face, along with not keeping hair at bay for more than a few days.

Facial Hair Removal with Waxing

Waxing is a good temporary solution for facial hair. Waxing works by removing hair at the root and typically lasts for a few weeks. Waxing facial hair, however, may lead to ingrown hair and irritation. Many times, facial hair does not grow out long enough to be properly waxed. While waxing does not permanently reduce any type of hair, it lasts much longer than shaving and is a good short-term solution.

Facial Hair Removal with Laser

The most effective way to remove facial hair is through laser hair removal. This needs to be done at a medical spa or a dermatologist’s office. Laser hair removal typically takes three to six sessions placed a few weeks apart. The IPL or laser is focused on the skin where the frequencies are attracted to the darkness of the follicle, destroying the follicle.

Facial Hair Removal with Electrolysis

The only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal is electrolysis. In the process, a small metal tool is attached to each individual hair follicle while a small electric current is passed through. This immediately kills the hair follicle permanently. While it is very effective, electrolysis is time consuming, and some find it painful. This is why laser hair removal is the method of choice for many people dealing with facial hair.
